Nerds, Rentboys and desperate Husbands; what a lovely mixed bag we have for you this week. Jack discusses the merits of those cute geeky boys we so often overlook while Man's Best bring us some of the hottest men from the sleazy world of male prostitution. I don’t know if the review of Desperate Househusbands was timed to coincide with the start of the new season of Desperate Housewives, but it seems mighty suspicious. ;) |
Glorious Geeks
Let me confess something: a good few years ago, I was a serious nerd. I was a geek; a basement-dweller. Not a mere recreational geek, either; I'm talking thick, often-fogged-up glasses, stack of comic books (though woe betide you if you called them that; they were graphic novels!), and a bag of many-sided dice for Dungeons & Dragons. The thought that anyone could find someone like me attractive would have blown my mind at the time. Yet here I am now -- my glasses and stack of comic books a bit thinner, my dice a bit dustier -- and you know what? More and more people are casting speculative glances to the nerdy side of the fence. First we showed people that we can have style -- think back a few years to when heavy black glasses meant snickers and stares, not cutting-edge fashion -- and now we're showing people that we're damn sexy. So why are nerds sexy? Well...apart from the trend of geek chic, it's two things: what we know, and what we're up for. Geeks know stuff. The same impulse to seek out knowledge that made us the class swot also makes us well-versed in things that'll leave your head spinning, your cock throbbing, and your brain wondering what the hell happened. We're the go-to guys for knowledge of obscure sexual techniques. Even among my own relatively small, geeky circle of friends, there are lads versed in Japanese rope bondage, leatherworking, and special-effects makeup (and don't underestimate this one...think of how many fantasies you could fulfil with someone who can literally look like something out of your dreams, or your nightmares!).
