Maneater is Janine's comeback film for Vivid, featuring her first ever boy-girl scenes. The film begins with director Paul Thomas interviewing Janine about her decision to start working with men following years in the industry only performing with girls. She explains that she is more at ease with herself nowadays, and that in the past she always had a partner saying "no guys". She says she doesn't care what people will say about her and that the decision wasn't about money (although later acknowledges "the public don't want to see me in any more girl-girl scenes - been there done that"). It's interesting hearing her take on it and it creates a good build-up to her first scene, with Nick Manning. Unfortunately for Janine, I felt, the scene takes place mostly in a dilapidated toilet wash area, on the sinks and paper-strewn floor - not exactly luxurious surroundings. Later it moves to a cushioned platform which looks a bit more comfy.

She stars off wearing a long-sleeved little pink cardigan, hiding her extended wrist-to-shoulder tattoos, and a little white skirt - an attempt to make her look innocent before her first on-screen penetration by a real cock? She plays it very nervous, which I personally didn't find that convincing - she's been on porn sets for years after all. Maybe I'm being too harsh though. The scene is quite rough with Nick taking total control, pulling her hair to direct her head, pushing her into new positions and giving her a few hard slaps, with plenty of "yeeeah, YEEEAH" shouting.

Afterwards while Janine's taking about the scene we see them being much more tender, resting in-between takes, and I personally would have found this more convincing to watch. If you saw all Janine's girl-girl work and fantasised about giving her a hard shagging to show her what a man's like, however, this will push your buttons. On the way back to the changing rooms afterwards she says she "feels initiated" and asks "am I a real porn star now?".

We get to see more of Janine in boy-girl action later but first the most beautiful hair I've seen in a porn film courtesy of stunning Olivia O'Lovely - natural, black and so long it hangs way past her pert buttocks. She deep-throats Dale Dabone in a Jacuzzi with extreme classiness, swallowing him without any retching or face-pulling, before taking him to the bed and telling him she likes it rough; he willingly obliges. Then we see Janine watching a couple getting frisky in a barn, in an almost 70s-style scene.

Janine's second boy-girl looks much more natural than the first, in a scene with Angelica Sin and Dale Dabone. The three get into various combinations of body parts. Janine leaves the anal to Angelica, although confessing in one of the interview sections that she enjoys it in her private life and gives herself DP when she masturbates. After the scene she also describes how she had an orgasm of the kind which "rocks your inner soul to the core" with Dale, and that she got both the performers' telephone numbers...

Lastly, Sunrise Adams and Janine play with bondage themes for a photoshoot which we get to watch on film. If you want to see Sunrise's cute little mouth stuffed with a ball gag here's your chance. We can hear the crew throughout, see the camera flashes and sometimes the cameramen. For some reason I found this more of a turn-on than if the scene had just been filmed straight. They end up in the shower together for a great tease show for a queue of waiting men. I liked the interview footage being mixed with the scenes, and the backstage footage.

If you want to fantasise that porn is real then this isn't so good as you're constantly reminded that it's a performance (particularly in the last scene when Sunrise and Janine are being directed by the cameramen). If you find the idea of a porn shoot itself a turn-on though, and if you're a Janine fan, this is great.
